ONE HUNDRED and sixty-
three years of independence . , . One hundred and
sixty-three years of a flag proudly waving over a
grateful people.
NOT AS an insignia of a
great nation . . . NOT as a pennant of defiance and
hate . . . BUT as a symbol of a peoples' and a gov-
ernment's love for freedom, peace and tolerance.
May our great flag continue to wave, ON THESE
PRINCIPLES, for countless generations to come.

This is one part of the year;
We always hold dear—'tis the

us of this little poem.
Mrs. Leon Albright honored her
sister-in-law, Mrs. Margarite Al-
bright, a bride to be, Sunday after-

shower. The living room was
beautifully decorated with large
vases of zinnias. Each guest wrote
a brief note of advice to the bride

she received from the following
guests: Mesdames Ed Priebe, Ed
Heldman, Ralph Williams, Charlie
Maddox, E. P. Godby, Annie Dean,
Willie Suehs, Fritz Drahem, Lon
Goodson, W. A. Wiederhold, A. H.

This being the last write up be-
fore the church dedication in this
community, I want to take this
opportunity to ask all of you, re-
gardless of what denomination, to
be present. This is probably what
the program will look like; how-
ever, it is not official:
9:30 to 11:30 — regular Sunday
School services.
11:30 to 12:30—dedicatory services
by the pastor.
12:30 to 2:00barbecue dinner at
the state park.
2:00 to 5:00 song service.
The song services will be made
up of special numbers such as
duets, trios, quartets and choir
numbers. We hope that you will be
present and have a good time.
The weather in this community
is very favorable for the crops and
it again looks like the farmers will
be able to live comfortably.

ed Mr. and Mrs. Walter Rosenkranz

Mrs. Lydia Brandt and Eugene of
Houston visited in this community
Sunday.

and family of Mumford visited in
this community Saturday.
