Tenant Farmers of Texas.
All renters in Texas are invited to meet
at their county seat on the fourth Saturday
In July, 1880, and organize a colony to set-
tle up the five million acres of Texas land
subject to homestead entry. All colonies
to leave home by the 1st of November.
We can ship our corn, drive our cows, and,
In faot, take everything. Wo can buy our
lumber In bulk. We will want teachers,
preachers and doctors, and we can organ-
ize co-operative stores, and have a com-
plete settlement at once. Brethren, we
have been here for years, and helped to
make Texas what she is, aad now let's go
and get us homes before foreigners come
and reap the rich reward of unearned In-

All managers of co-operative stores, su-
perintendent of Alliance flouring mills and
county cotton weighers are hereby re-
quested to meet in the State Exchange hall
in the city of Dallas, Texas, on Friday Au-
gust 10,1889, at 10 o'clock a. m., for the
purpose of permanent organization, to the
end that we muy Inaugurate a thorough
system of state co-operation.
Brethren, let every one mentioned in this
call be sure to come. We can learn much
from each other and hold up the hands of
our state business manager.

Bunny Side Alliance.
Resolved, 1st. That the members ot Sun-
ny Sido Alliance, No. 8128, fully endorse
and will comply wiih the reoommendaiioa
of the committee at the Birmingham meet-
ing. May 10,1889.
2nd. That a committee of one be ap-
pointed and empowered to purchase all
cotton bagging necessary to supply the
members of this Alliance for this season
and to make all necessary arrangements to
secure same.
3rd. That every member of this Alli-
ance who needs bagging wrap his cotton
with cotton bagging.
4th. That eaoh member give to said
agent a list of the number of bales he wil<
need bagging for, and act upon this matter
immediately.
5th. That said agent will place himselt
in communication with the proper authori-
ty In order to carry out the motives and
purposes of the above resolution.
0th. That we heartily endorse the ac.
tion of the representatives at the Birming-
ham meeting in devising ways and means
for the destruction of the bagging, the
cotton seed oil, and the school book trusts,
and all other combines of a kindred nature;
and we pledge ourselves to assist in every
legitimate way we can to bring about the
desired result.
7th. That it is not only our privilege,
but our duty, to subscribe for Thk South-
ern Mercury, tne grand organ of our
order, and to increase its ciroulation
whenever an opportunity offers.
8th. That the above resolutions and the
action of this Alliance upou the same be
placed upon the minutes of this meeting,
and a copy be sent to The Southern
Mercury.

Whereas, A delegation of representa-
tive men representing various national la-
bor organizations assembled In convention
In the city ol Birmingham, in May last, did
denounce the jute bagging trust, and
agreed to adopt and use Instead of jute,
cotton bagging to wrap the present and
succeeding crops ol cotton. Therefore, be it
Resolved by the Wood County Farmers
Alliance in regular session assembled, that
we will adopt and practice the recommen-
dations of said convention relative to the
jute trust, and to the wrapping of our cot-
ton with cotton bagging.

merchants of the country not to handle the
jute bagging, but Instead thercor, to fur-
nish the larmers, as far as possible, with
the Odenhelmer cotton bagging, manu-
factured at New Orleans, La..

at Birmingham, Ala., on the 15th and 10th
days of May, 1S8Í), make arrangements lor
cotton bagging instead of jute ; therefore,
be it
Resolved, That we the members 'com-
posing this Alliance, (Eureka), do pledge
ourselves to use cotton 'tugging if it can be
hand, and request our gin-uieu, locul mer
chants and all others who propose to fur-
nish bagging, to aid us m this fight by
handling only cotton bagging.
Resolved, That these resolutions bo
furnished The Mercury and Kavusota
Tablet, and request that they publish them.

Whereas, The bagging trust did dur-
ing the past season fleece the farmers of
the cotton states out of two million dollars
by their unjust combination ; therefore,
be it
Resolved by the San Augustine County
Alliance do most heartily approve the ac.
tion of the Birmingham convention, and
pledge ourselves to stand by them. Be it
further
Resolved, That we will adopt cotton
bagging for wrapping our cotton and will
use no othor, and we furthermore cull on
all cotton producers and our home mer-
chants to assist In fighting this combine by
handling only toe substitute that the
National Alllanoe adopted. Be it further
Resolved, That as many thousands or
dollars are annually spent for flour, we
favor the raising of wheat for home con-
sumption, and ask the brotherhood and
farmers throughout the county to aBslst us
in same.
ltetolved. That we recommend the prop-
osition of Hanks & Bro. of putting up a
patent roller fl >ur mill for the grinding of
our wheat.

ton bspglng, regardless of price.
Resolved, That wo advise our local
merchants to handle cotton bagging; also
advise our glnners to use cotton bagging.
Resolved, That we endorse the action
of tbe Birmingham convention.

ordered the charter of the Exchange so
amended as to make the uapltal stock $500,-
000, divided into 100,000 shares. This will
make a full share 95.00, and all fractional
shares heretofore issued will be recognized
