Note:

Mary Van den Berge Hill was a third generation Texan married to oilman, attorney, and author, George Alfred Hill, Jr. Born in Victoria, Texas, Mary Hill graduated from Sophie Newcomb College in New Orleans, Louisiana. Her civic activities included membership in the Junior League of Houston and in the Roadside Council of the Texas Highway Commission. She was also active in the Garden Club of Houston, serving a term as its president.
