Tikkun Leyl Shavuot
Beth-El Congregation will be the
host this year as members of Ahavath
Sholom and Beth Shalom gather with
them to observe the important holiday
of Shavuot on Sunday June 12. Fol-
lowing a tradition of the three
congregations marking the holiday
together, this year's program "The Ten
Commandments and the Revelation
at Sinai: Three Perspectives," will be
given by Rabbis Ralph Mecklenburger,
Ned Soltz and Baruch Zeilicovich.
Those interested are invited to a
blintz-making demonstration fea-
turing Chef Adam Seigel at 7:30 p.m.
The 8:15 p.m. service will be followed
by the program featuring the three

dishes (traditional Shavuot delica-
cies) will be served at the reception
concluding the evening.
JEAto recognize retiring
educators at
Shabbat services
After long years of dedicated ser-
vice, the Jewish Education Agency of
Fort Worth and Tarrant County will
honor Shoshana Howard, Lil
Goldman Early Learning Center, and
Jaclyn Daiches, preschool teacher,
during 9:30 a.m. Shabbat services at
Cong. Ahavath Sholom on Saturday,
June 4. A Kiddush luncheon in their
honor will follow. Both retired at the
close of this school year. The entire
community is invited to attend.
Lawton exhibition
spiritually uplifting
Community members gathered at
Ahavath Sholom, May 22 for a moving
and beautiful program, exhibiting
work from world-renowned artist,
Eric Lawton. Each piece in his "Time-
less Images of Israel" collection is
unique and different. Rabbi Baruch
Zeilicovich commented that Eric's
work feels "like it comes out atyou...as
if you are coming or going from the
places it captures." Others noted the
color and clarity of each photograph,
depicting an Israel that, according to
Lawton, "has been there for thousands
of years and will always be there...time-
less." From the Western Wall to
Masada, each piece of artwork has a
depth and richness unlike others in the
genre. Eric's work will be on display at
Ahavath Sholom until the end of June.
Groups and individuals are encour-
aged to visit the Brachman Parlor to
take in the beauty of Israel through
Lawton's collection of photographs, as
well as poems written describing each
scene. This is a must-see exhibit
previously on display at Christie's of
Beverly Hills and on permanent
exhibit at the Skirball Museum in
Los Angeles. For information on
scheduling a visit or to find out where
you can purchase a signed piece, please
call Lorie Raileanu (817) 924-1082 or

"Daytimers" hear Jim Jones
on Israel Trip
Former Star Telegrat n religion writer
Jim Jones recounted delightful stories
about the Israel trip he took with Posy
McMillen and Rabbi Baruch Zeili-
covich for the May luncheon of the
Sylvia Wolens "Daytimers."
He told about visiting Jewish and
Christian sites, praying at the Western
Wall, and a baptism in the Jordan River.
He was coached along by Posy, and the
group was entertained with a musical
interlude by Rabbi Zeilicovich. The
rabbi made a special tribute to A1 and
Sylvia Wexler, who wore their trip
t-shirts, for the outstanding energy on
the trip.
Next event for the "Daytimers" will
be a trip to Weatherford's Chandor
Gardens, Wednesday, June 15, at
