the large black trotting stallion
Hunter McGuire No. 30539 from
W. H. Wheeler, Parvin, Texas,
and was exhibiting him in white
harness to buggy Saturday even-
ing, also showing three large fine
black yearling colts sited by him
that attracted much attention.
Avner also exhibited the Baccus
yearling colt "Blancho," (sired

and adjudged insane.

from justice court precinct No 8,
was Monday sent buck to justice
court, the appeal being dismissed.

with violating local option law in
precinct No. 2. Bond forfeited.
Motion to ouash proceedings
in the case of tuate of Texas vs.
J as. N. Howell, charged with dis-
turbance. overruled. Some ab-
sent witnesses were fined $10.00
each.
The man who beat his wife with
a trace chain will now have some
"chain" experience of his own.
He was sent to the "chain gang"
this morning to aid in solving the
good roads problem. His wife,
left for her home at Ennis.

The commissioners couit finish-
ed the examination of the tax as-
sessors rolls today at noon. Mr.
Graham's books were found to
tie in first class shape and the
rolls perfectly correct in every
way. The court then adjourned.
Suit has been tiled in the dis-
trict court by Mrs. Lula M. Shat-
ley against T. K. Ball of Farni-1

DEATH'S DOINGS.
Mrs. Cope White formerly of
this city but who has been living
at Whitesboro ince her hus-
bands death three years ago, has
accepted a position as matron in
Elmeta B« nd school at Minco, I.
T. Mi i. While is a most excel-
lent lady and has many friends
here.
Little Kva Hudson, age twelve
months, died Mondtv at Alto-
gtt at the home of her father, Hi i
G. Hudson. The little sufferer j
died of lever. The interment
took place Tuesday at Al-
logu in the presence of loving rel-
atives and friends.
Mrs. Hurietr Scott a widow lady
aged ,80 died at three a. m.
\1on lav at her home just north of
Melissa. The deceased sustained.
a stroke of paralysis from which
she never recovered. The inter-
ment took place Tuesday at the
Highland cemetery at 4 p. m.
where the remains were laid ten-
