RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE PRESIDENT
The following recommendations are hereby submitted:
1. That a long range building program (10-15 years) be considered by TSAT
in order to expand professional services,
2. That the constitution be revised so that a Nominating Committee can be
appointed for the purpose of screening candidates for offices in TSAT and that the
nominees for offices in TSAT will be submitted by districts.
3 That the president and Executive Committee be authorized to establish the
procedure for the Nominating Committee using representation from each of the six
districts.
b That resolutions and proposed constitutional amendments be presented to the
general assembly at the Thursday morning session,
5# That a strong Credentials Committee, charged with the responsibilities of
certifying, informing, checking delegates 1 credentials, be appointed by the president.
6. That the first vice-president serve on the Executive Committee officially and
be given specific assignments from the president and Executive Committee.
7. That TSAT and the Executive Committee establish a system of unified dues at
the local, district, state, and national levels, comparable with other state
professional organizations.
8. That, inasmuch as we are expecting more professional services, and rightfully
so, that TSAT dues be increased to $7*00, and that 70 from each membership dollar be
given to the host city.
9. That the host city for the next year be announced at the General Session on
Friday.
10. That all association members take a more active interest in the NEA and ATA.
11. That TSAT provide in future convention programs a time for the six districts
to hold closed meetings in order to decide issues, thereby enabling a more informed
delegation.
12. That the Executive Committee be authorized to establish a section for
retired teachers.
13. That insurance risks, social security and retirement benefits, tax exemptions
for public conveyances (train, bus, plane) to be provided for all qualified TSAT
employees.
lii« That Distinguished Service Awards—in keeping with good reasoning, goodwill,
and human relations—be given each year at the discretion of the incumbent president^
