A quorum of the House was an-
nounced present.
The Invocation was offered by
Chaplain Clinton Kersey, as follows:
"Our Father and our God, we pray
this day for the vision and courage
of George Washington. We realize this
day that Thy invisible hand has con-
ducted the affairs of men and es-
pecially famous leaders such as the
Father of our Country. Lord, we know
that we became an independent Na-
tion by Thy providence. We pray that
Thou would not forsake us now. Unite
our thinking and regardless of party
or belief, may we be united in our
efforts for unity and purpose. That
we may serve our people better, we
pray for evidence this day, in our
words and actions, that each Member
has yielded his life to Thee. Forgive
us our failures and mistakes. In Jesus'
Name. Amen."
(Mr. Cory in the Chair)
