PAU Begins
Registration
The school bell is about
to ring again for Pan Am-
erican University students
with spring registration
scheduled Thursday and
Friday (Jan. 13-14) for the
nearly 6,000 students ex-
pected to sign up for clas-
ses.
Packets of information
containing appointment
times for entry into the re-
gistration lines at the
Health and Physical Educa-
tion Complex have gone out
to students, according to
Homer J. Pena, registrar.
Total registration during
the 1971 fall semester was
a record-breaking 6,217
students. It Is considered
normal for registration to
V.SSV.W.V.W.'.'.'.'.'.'.V.'.V'
drop in the spring semes-
ter, and Pena is expecting
about 5,987 students to sign
up this time.
He recalled, however,
that the normal doesn't al-
ways happen. During the
fall semester of 1970 the
enrollment total at Pan Am
was 5,045 « the first time
the university had exceeded
the 5,000 mark. Then at
spring registration a year
ago, with a slight drop ex-
pected, Pan Am set another
record with enrollment in-
creasing to 5,294. But Pena
doesn't forsee a repetition
of the increase and sticks
with the figure slightly be-
low the 6,000 mark for the
coming semester.
