Baptist Women to
serve Pan Am students
The Women's Missionary So-
ciety of Hie First Baptist
Church of Rio Grande Citv will
be serving a noon meal to stu-
dents at the Baptist Student Un-
ion of Pan American University
on Thursday, November 2.
The organization serves the
B.S. U. students several times
during the year with other Bap-
tist churches of the Rio Grande
Valley serving on ttie other
weeks. The students pay the
Student Union only 500 for their
meal. These meals are provi-
ded every Thursday at noon for
any students on campus who
wish to attend.
Women of the church cook
beans, salad, and cakes, and O.
F, Guffey fries chicken for the
meal.

FIRST LADY — The Rio Grande City Rotary Club has opened
up the competition to the First Lady of South Texas. This year's
first lady will be chosen from an open field which allows the
nomination just about any lady any Rio Grande City Roturian
wishes to nominate. Pictured above receiving last year's First
Lady of South Texas Cup and Roses is Mrs. Gerald VV. Mc-
Kenna. This years competition will feature as guest speaker
Mrs. Romana Banuelos, United States Treasurer.

previously were Mrs. Byron
Campbell of Raymondville and
Mrs. Florence J. Scott of Rio
Grande City.
