Jenny Harrison Circle
Twenty-seven members and
friends of the Jennie Harrison
Circle tnet in the home of Mrs. S.
P. Fox Monday afternoon with
Miss Nellie Singletary as co-
hostess. These women are begin-
ning the study of Africa. A large
map of Africa, pictures and books
throughout the living room cre-
ated an interest to learn more of
this Continent that is so much in
the news today and why the
church is interested and con-
cerned about the rapid changes
that are taking place there.
After a business session, Mrs.
Fisher Harrison led the won-en
in thinking of how each person
could develop their lives in this
New Year. After prayer she and
Mrs. Fox sang. Mrs. Tom Black
told stories of two African wo-
men—one from a Christian home
and one from a non-Christian
home. Everyone appreciated this
good program and the social hour
that followed. Coffee, sandwiches,
cookies and nuts were served
from the dining room, the New
Year theme prevailed.
Each Monday afternoon at two
o'clock the study of Africa will
be held in the Methodist Chapet
under the leadership of Mrs.
Dudley Lawson. Mrs. Lawson
took this course in Mt. Sequoah
last summer and has made an ex-
tension study of Africa. Anyone
interested is invited.

Nations." She explained that tin)
purpose of her talk was to give
Circle members some foresight of
U. N. work throughout the world
and to explain its connection
wih the church.
After the program, Circle pres-
ident, Mrs. Jerry Jackson, pre-
sided over the business meeting.
Mrs. Wallace and Mrs. Dqar*
assisted by Little Miss Cynthia
Wailace, served delicious refresh-
ments, after which a social hour
followed.
