Annette Meek and Fern Young
led Gospel Hour Monday morn-
ing. Fern played the piano and
gave a devotional and Annette led
the singing. Shirley Baker and
Linda Folley gave manicures to
several ladies in the beauty shop.
Virginia Rogers called the bingo
games in the afternoon.
Monday was National Pig Day.
A pig calling contest was held in
the afternoon. It was a tie be-
tween Evelyn Billenwillms and
Phyllis Laramore. Each resident
had a paper pig to color and deco-
rate. Phyllis Laramore won the
best dressed pig award. Clara
Wootton won the "name the pig
contest" with the name Sparky.
Everyone had a good time.
Rhythm Band was enjoyed by
a large group on Tuesday. Mary
Lynne Schafer and Gena Tubb en-
tertained. Virginia Rogers held
her exercise class. Rev. Mike
Kirby gave a devotional at 10:30,
with a study from Genesis 21. Do-
ris Finsterwald and Evelyn Meek
held a sing-along in the afternoon.
A Resident s' Council meeting was
also held in the afternoon. Items
discussed included the monthly
calendar.
Rev. Dean English held Bible
study on Wednesday morning.
Matt Cook played the piano for a
group later in the morning.
The beauty shop was a busy
place on Thursday. Carol Brock
and Gaydean Bucher helped
Eugenia Byard. Nell Leonard and
Gaydean worked on Friday.
Wayne and Shirley Baker hosted
the Donut Social Thursday morn-
ing. Everyone enjoyed the donuts
and visiting.
Thursday afternoon Nell
Leonard showed her dolls she had
made, painted and made clothes
for. There was a large group of
dolls and everyone enjoyed hold-
ing them and talking about them.

Wayne Baker brought his de-
votional on Friday morning,
speaking on the subject, "First
Things First." Rolanda Coffee
had a craft class Friday afternoon.
The group worked on door and
lobby decorations for St. Patrick's
Day.
Lee Hendershot from the
First Christian Church held com-
munion on Sunday morning. Jim
Hash led the group in a gospel
sing-along. The Sunday afternoon
church services were hosted by
the Church of Christ. Heath
Hufstedler gave the message
taken from Judges 16-24.

HORACE ALBERT FILLINGIM
Horace Albert Fillingim, 80, of Allison died Monday, March 8,2004.
Services were held today [Thursday], March 11, 2004 at 2 p.m. at the
First United Methodist Church in Allison with Rev. Ricky Carstensen,
Pastor, officiating. Burial was under the direction of Wright Funeral
Home of Wheeler.
Mr. Fillingim was born October 5,1923 in Wheeler County to Irving
Gillis and Laura Fillingim. He has been a farmer for most of his life. Mr.
Fillingim graduated from Canadian High School in 1942 and attended
Watch Makers School in Amarillo. He married Juanita Boren Septem-
ber 19,1954 in Olney Springs, Colorado. After marrying Juanita, they
moved to the Allison Community from Colorado in 1967. Mr. Fillingim
was a veteran of World War II, servingin the U.S. Navy and was a mem-
ber of the Allison United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Roman; his parents; a
sister, Leola Root; four brothers, Leon, E.G., William and Hugh
Fillingim.
Surviving him are his wife, Juanita of Allison; a son, Lawrence
Fillingim of Tatum; a daughter, Bonnie Maddox of Tatum; two brothers,
Talmadge Fillingim of Providence, Utah and Willis Fillingim of
Wheeler; two sisters, Eula Mae Newman of Saginaw and Laura
Cornelia Lehman of McGaegor, Minnesota; five grandchildren; and
seven great-grandchildren.
The family requests memorialsbe to the Adam Tipps Fund, 9575 CR
15, Briscoe, TX 79011-9612.
GEORGE RAY HAND
George Ray Hand died
Wednesday, March 3, 2004 at
the age of 67 at his home in
Wewoka, Oklahoma. Memorial
services were held Saturday,
March 6, 2004 at the First
Christian Church of Wewoka,
with Neil Thompson of
Wetumka, Oklahoma, officiat-
ing.
George Hand was born No-
vember 6,1936 in Iowa Park to
Lonnie and Pearl Hand.
He was preceded in death
by his parents and two broth-
erSj Olen Hand and Lowell
Hand.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Hand of the home; two sons, Scott
Hand of Dalhart and Wayne Hand of Seguin; two stepsons, Jeff
Dinsmore of Wewoka, Oklahoma and Steve Dinsmore of Durant,
Oklahoma; two sisters, Betty Thomason of Canadian and Polly Horton
of Higgins; one brother, Alonzo Hand of Canadian; a half-brother, Ken-
neth Kerns of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren; and other family and
friends.
The family suggests memorials be to the American Cancer Society,
4323 NW 63rd, Suite 110, Oklahoma City, OK 73116-1513.
JUANITA LOPHIA CURRY
Juanita Lophia Curry of Canadian died Thursday, March 4,2004 in
Tuttle, Oklahoma. Graveside services were held Monday afternoon,
March 8,2004 at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery in Canadian with ar-
rangements by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors of Canadian.
Juanita Lophia Curry was born March 19,1919 in Mesa, Arizona to
Henry and Annie Myrtle Crow Parrish and grew up in New Mexico. She
lived over sixty years in Canadian before moving to Tuttle in November
2003.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Harold; a
daughter Anita; three brothers, Hoppy, Paul and Billy; two sisters, Vi-
ola and Jesse; one grandson, Terry; and one great-grandson, David.
Her survivors include a son, Jimmy Doyle Salyer of Tampa, Florida;
two daughters, Marie Wright and husband, Larry, of Deming, New
Mexico, and Shaaron Keener and husband, Stan, of Tuttle, Oklahoma; a
Sister, Josephine Sollock of Little Rock, Arkansas; 11 grandchildren;
and numerous great-grandchildren.
