—One day last week we rode
home from Albany in Louie
Wolfrom's foar : horse wagon,
"Smith'' (Sam Stinson's-old ad.
jutant) being driver. The wag-
on ran over a mesquite root.
Frankel, a -passenger, was on
the seat with tbe adjutant. The
Jolt threw the adjutant off the
seat Frankel caught and tried
to bold him but failing in the.
attempt, went overboard with
him. Neither •' were seriously
hurt but both considerably
braised by the fall. Both had
a miraculous escape from a se-
rious if not fatal accident.

Mean Cow Boys.
Simon Outtman is a sheep
man and his ranch is about
fourjntite# west of south from
here. • He is a liberal, open-
hearted, good-natured gentle-
man. It is a custom among
cow men to stop over night at
any convenient place. About
two weeks ago a party of cow
boys from the Wichita took
possession of Mr. Guttman's
house and corral during his
absence, but of this he makes
no complaint, . because all
strangers are welcome to his
place, but after eating his grub,
using his fuel, coosing utensils,
house, bed. in fact making
themselves at home, Mr. Gutt-
man yery properly is indig-
nant because they carried .oft
with them three pairs of com-
paratively new blankets, If we
knew wboBe outfit perpetrated
this- mean trick we would be
glad to give the name. ;
