Dominique tie him up had mentioned the inci-
dent to his parole officer. The man could not
remember the address, but he led investigators to
where Dominique lived. Investigators put
Dominique's face in a line-up, and the witness
picked him out.
Investigators said a DNA swab Dominique
allowed them to take matched the two cases for
which he was originally charged.
Dominique is charged with multiple cases of
aggravated rape and first-degree murder. A
Terrebonne Parish judge has set bail at S1 million
for each case in which he has been charged in
that parish, for a total of $8 million. Charges in
other parishes are pending.
Prosecutors have said they plan to seek the
death penalty.
The concern that a serial killer was responsible
for the deaths of the men was first raised by law
enforcement officers in 2005.

Pounding member of Greater
Dallas MCC to be ordained
By Beth Freed Staff Writer
Teresa Mallott, a founding member of the
Metropolitan Community Church of Greater
Dallas, will take one more step in her spiritual
journey when she is ordained this weekend.
"One of the things that really draws me to
MCC's ministry is the desire to make the Gospel
message as inclusive and accepting as possible,"
said Mallott. "They show that there is, in fact, a
place at God's table for all people, especially
those who have been hurt in the past."
Mallott's ordination will take place at 4 p.m.
on Saturday, Dec. 9, at the MCC of Greater
Dallas, 2735 Villa Creek Dr., Suite 290. Mallott
will lead the sermon the following day, Dec. 10,
at the 10 a.m. service.
Her parents will be in attendance to celebrate
the second female clergy member in the family.
Mallott moved to Dallas 22 years ago to attend
the Perkins School of Theology at SMU. At that
time, she hoped to become a United Methodist
preacher, like both of her parents. By her senior
year, she said, she accepted that she was a lesbian
and decided against pursuing ordination.
"This is a culmination of a very long journey
for me," she said. "It's exciting. I'm struck by
awe when I realize where I'm at now."
Although Mallott did note that some mixed
feelings accompany this period of transition, she
is eager to begin her ministry. She had already
been involved with MCC-Greater Dallas on
almost every level — from office work to teach-
ing to preaching.
"I have a deep sense of gratitude for God and
the people who have allowed themselves to be
messengers for God," she said. "I want to help
our community, and any people who have lost
their voice, to rediscover that voice."
With all the religious-political mudslinging
Teresa Mallott, who will be ordained as an MCC minister
on Saturday, said LGBT people must "reclaim our whole
selves and know what is true based on our own experi-
ences instead of what other people claim."
going on, Mallott said that it is very important for
gay Christians to contribute their voices to the
discussion. She said that it is compartmentalizing
to say that someone can be gay, but not a
Christian, or if a person is a Christian, they must
reject their sexuality.
"We need to reclaim our whole selves and
know what is true based on our own experiences
instead of what other people claim," she said.
"God has not made a distinction between us and
how we express ourselves physically, spiritually
or emotionally. We need to regain the deep

New Mope Fellowship has been a great church
home for me. From the moment I first walked
in the door. I was greeted with warm smiling
faces and open arms. I am glad to be able to
share my experiences with God with people who
are in search of the same relationship as I am.
