PET OF THE WEEK: MEET SADIE
Sadie is a 5 month- old brown
tabby, part of an "accidental lit-
ter" (mama cat wasn't spayed).
She's somewhat shy but quiet and
good with other cats. Sadie would
love a home for the holidays.
She's spayed, vaccinated,
microchipped and negative for
FeLV/FIV.
Dogs, cats, puppies and kittens are avail-
able for adoption from Operation
Kindness, 3201 Earhart Drive (near
Keller Springs Road and Midway Road),
CarrolIton. The no-kill shelter is open
Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m.
to 5 p.m. (until 8 p.m. Thursday) and
Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Cost to
adopt is $110 for cats and kittens and
$135 for dogs and puppies. The cost
includes spay or neuter surgery,
microchipping, vaccinations and other
tests. Those 65 and above and those who
adopt two pets at the same time get a
$20 discount. For more information call
972-418-PAWS, or visit www.opera-
tionkindness.org.
CLIMBERS
Continued from Page 6
tated.
"I never, I mean, ever since it came out that
they were in trouble, they were lost, I never
doubted the fact that Brian would come back to
us," said Worth Ross, a friend and client of Hall's
for more than 10 years, "Until, I guess, yesterday
[Wednesday, Dec. 20], when the search was
called off.. .1 just had all this faith in Brian and
his ability and his brain. I just knew he'd come
through. I just expected him to any minute. It's
pretty devastating, if he's not coming back."
At a press conference, Mt. Hood Sheriff Joe
Wampler said that some, but not all, of the miss-
ing climbers' family members agreed that it was
no longer worth the risk to rescue teams, report-
ed the L.A. Times. The search had lasted for nine
days.
According to Paul Van de Vyver, a friend and
client of Hall's for three years, "The rescue work-
ers have taken time off work to risk their lives to
search for the lost
climbers."
Friends and
clients started a
fund for rescue
workers when
they learned that
there was no
monetary com-
pensation for the
work.
Donations for
the rescue volun-
teers who spent
weeks searching
for the three climbers can be sent to the Dallas
National Bank, 2725 Turtle Creek Blvd., Dallas,
Texas, 75219 or Performance Playground, 4152
Cole Ave., Dallas, Texas, 75204. Checks should
be made payable to the Mt. Hood Rescue 2006
Fund.
For more information, call the bank at 214-
224-7300 or the gym at 214-522-0611.
