Fierce F-to-M guitar rocker
performs post-SXSW gig in Big D
Last December, at their first Dallas gig, The
Cliks tried to leave the tiny, freezing stage of The
Cavern on Lower Greenville. They had to make
room for San Antonio trio Girl in a Coma, but
the sapphic-loving audience wasn't having any
of it. Everyone was super-pumped, having just
finished shouting along to the chorus of "Oh
Yeah:" "I leant, I want, I want my bain/
back!"
Lead vocalist-guitarist Lucas
Silveira, pictured, was about to
unplug his amp but then
smiled and began strumming
the chords of the lighter-wav-
ing torch song "Nobody Else
Will." After thunderous
applause, the female-to-male
trans rocker said the band could-
n't have imagined a warmer Texas
welcome.
So far, Texas has been very good to The
Cliks. Last year, Cyndi Lauper's tour manager
caught them at South by Southwest and booked
them for the True Colors tour. And this year/ as
they make their way back to Austin for two
SXSW, The Cliks are also playing a benefit gig

The venue sounds interesting:
According to UCC, the historic Ervay
Theatre, which is located in The Cedars,
used to be owned by Jack Ruby and was appar-
ently a favorite hangout of Bonnie and Clyde.
However, securing a ticket to the gig is going to
be costly: UCC is suggesting $200 donations per
ticket. However, they are looking for street-team
volunteers.
SOUNDTRACK FOR THE DOUCHEBAG DISCOTHEQUE
Didn't the era of the celebrity DJ already die? If that's the
case, no one told StoneRokk and Graham Funke — two Los
Angeles-based DJs who brag that they've spun records in the
presence of George Clooney, Demi Moore, Jennifer Aniston
and Tobey Maguire.
The duo apparently get hired at clubs we've seen fea-
tured on episodes of "The Hills:" Hyde and Les Duex. They
caught the attention of Dallas Voice after they sent us the
flyer for their latest tour "Trabajo," which features two gay-
looking construction workers who are ready for the Village
People auditions.
With a press kit that includes gossip-item clips from
People, US magazine and InTouch. it's safe to say that their
brand cha-cha would be ideal for "Celebrity Rehab: Season
2."
