Clogging classes perform Sunday
"Share The Fun" 4-H Project Leader,
Cheta McLanahan, presented her clogging
classes to approximately 50 family members
and guests at Baker School Activity Room
Sunday afternoon. They all wish to express
their appreciation to the school system for the
use of the school facili ties.
Various groups, ranging from 3rd to 6th
grade, demonstrated some of the clogging
steps they have been working on.
Groups participating were:
Uh Grade: Black Firecrackers - Bailey
Wright, Neyma Garcia, Dawlson Allen, Macy
Patterson, Hope Spruell.
Ifh Grade: Turquoise Turtles - Hannah
Baker, Catlin Cook, Mackensie Dodson.
Rock Steppers: 3rd grade - Karly Jenkins
and Brittany Hastings; 5th grade - Kari Jen-
kins; 6th grade - Shyanne Henry.
6th grade: Sassy Steppers - Tori Hamby
and Karlie Pelham (Mady McLanahan and
Claire Abraham were unable to attend).
The Black Firecrackers showed their
stuff by leading all the doggers in the rou-
tine, "Next to You, Next to Me."
Turquoise Turtles and Rock Steppers
were the leaders while dancing "River
Dance."
Silver Medal winner, Kar Jenkins, per-
formed her second place routine done to
"Twist & Shout," and also was joined by
the Sassy Steppers clogging to "Don't Be
Stupid," Sassy Steppers performed to "TV
Breakdown" and their gold medal routine,
"Pink Cadillac."
The girls' medals were earned at District
Roundup "Share the Fun" contest n the fall.
These doggers were, and still are, all in the
unior division. Those who win at district in
the senior group qualify to compete at the
state level. "We're hoping to have some dog-
gers making a trip downstate in the future!"
said Project Leader Cheta McLanahan.
The contest is classified as choreographed
routines, so clogging is only one type of ac-
tivity which might be performed. The senior
group from Miami, which qualified for state,
did a cheerleading routine.
Anyone who might be interested in com-
peting should contact Kyle Barnett at the
Hempl 11 County AgriL fe Extension Ser-
