Insurance Option
Washington (AFPS) Service
men being separated from the
Armed Forces before the end of
the year must take up their option
for five-year term non-convertible
GI insurance prior to Dec. 31
1956.
The insurance provisions of the
Survivor Benefits Act as passed
by the 84th Congress provided a
120-day period for separates to
exercise this option.
However no non-disabled
member of the Armed Forces
will be eligible after Dec. 31
1956 for GI insurance other
than renewal of USGLI or
NSLI policies formerly held.
This means that anyone sepa
rated after Sept. 3 1956 has less
than 120 days to apply for non-
convertible term insurance.
The special Defense Department
questionnaire which all members
of the services will be required to
sign in the near future will start
action on application or renewal
of any government policy for
which the individual might be el
igible.
eligible.
THE MORE SPEED
The faster we drive the more
disastrous an accident can be. The
impact of a collision at 60 miles
per hour is many times more
powerful and dangerous than at 30.
Be a sport—pay heed and reduce
speed then your chances are
stronger to live longer.
