to learn how a fire station
operates. Mr. T. Spauldin of
the Killeen department gave a
detailed account of the many
things a fireman has to know
and explained the use of the
fire fighting equipment.

RVN Reserve
Enlistment
Option Expires
WASHINGTON (ANF) The
Reserve Enlistment Active Duty
Option for the Republic of Viet
nam (RVN) expired effective
Dec. 31 1969.
The program had allowed U.S.
Army Reserve enlistment-call to
active duty for the purpose of
serving a one-year tour in RVN
Discontinuance stems from a
declining response and a reduc
tion of Army strength in RVN.
Despite the change members
cf Reserve components still may
volunteer for RVN service by
requesting active duty in ac
cordance with AR 135-210 and
stating RVN as the assignment
preference.
