Amarillo Children's Art on Display in Japan
There were 202 children from twenty-one elementary schools in Amarillo who participated in an International Exchange of Children's Art
last year. The project, sponsored by the South and West Rotary Club of Amarillo, resulted in receipt of the Paul P. Harris Award which denoted
that this was the best project in fourty-five countries.
Art work was exchanged with seven foreign countries last year according to Lon Moser, chairman of the Rotary International Student Pro-
jects Committee. These countries were: Japan, Greece, Israel, The Netherlands, Free China (Taiwan), West Germany and India. The 110
foreign pictures obtained from this exchange have been divided into seven portfolios and are being displayed in the Amarillo elementary schools.
The smiling children pictured are students in the Tsurumi Toyooka Primary School in Yokohama, Japan. Shown on the wall behind them
are pictures from Amarillo elementary students.
The cooperative project sponsored jointly by the South and West Rotary Club and the Amarillo Public School Art Department is being con-
ducted again this year. Nineteen elementary schools have participated and a total of 235 pictures have been submitted for distribution to foreign
