Being informed that Henry U. Metzger
laid been killed and that there were
grounds for believing that he caiiio to
his death at the hands of II. Liebler
Judge raulus caused the latter to be ar-
rested ami summoned a jury to impure
into the facts. Tho evidence was quite
voluminous but nothing was adduced
to show positively that Liebler did the
shooting. Tho jury rendered a very
lengthy verdict concluding : "That tho
deceased came to his death from the
effects of a pistol shot wound and that
they believe from the evidence that

Counsel for defense asked that the
prisoner be admitted to bail. The coro-
