bo filled up for Mr. Webster as a
meat market i ins room will also
have a tile floor and walnscotting
and will bo provided throughout
with the most modern and hygenic
fittings. The next room on the
south will ho fitted up for store
purposes.
On the second floor tho Atnarillo
Aerlo of Kagh's will have handsome
club rooms In the north half of
the building Including reading and
recreation room:! and a spacious
lodge room with attendant .and wait-
ing rooms Tho other half of the
building will ho arranged into ten
light airy husine-s offices with the
most modern conveniences 'in the
way of lavatories toilet rooms and
hallways. The rear of tho building
on both floors will have pte'cl sash
and frame doors and windows fitted
with wlro glass and tho rear stair
ways will be steel thus making fire
almost Impossible.
Another new departure which the
architect; are working out for the
building is the awning of steel frame
and wire glass which will bo sus
pended along tho front of tho build
ing. In sightliness strength and
light such an awning will bo far
ahead of tho ordinary steel and
frame awnings.
While the plans in tho architects
offices tit present call for tho erec
tion of the one double building it Is
quite likely that tho entire fivo lots
now covered .by tho flimsy frame
structure will go up at the same
tlmo under pIanB simitar to theso for
the Thompson-Webster building and
of tho same design . It Is prac-
tically certain this additional move
will bo madn but the order has not
yet been mado . Such a building
who.ro thf) present weather-beaten
shacks stand would present a busl-
nesB front not to be seen outside tho
larger cities. j
