'Mm Bruce Bcmar entertain-
ed her contract bridge club
with a Valentine Party Satur-
day afternoon. Individual heart
boxes of King's chocolates were
given to the guests as favors.
The guest list included: Mes-
dames: L. B. Willis, Ray Watts,
Weyiey Lott, R. C. Lukenbill,
John McReynolds, Joe Sharp,
Jim Kinney, and Sam Dodson
of Henderson. Mrs. Lott and
Mrs. Watts won first and
cesond high scores respectively.
Mrs. Dodson was presented with
a guest gift by the hostess.

The Florence Reed Study
Club met at the home of Mry.
Margaret Bray last Thursday
night. The two captains were
absent. Mrs. J. L. Shipp is still
in Houston with her father
who was recently operated up-
on and Mrs. W. E. Graham was
absent because of illness.
The club will meet at the
home of Mrs. B. F. Covin Fri-
day night of this week at 7
o'clock. All members of the
order of the Eastern Star des-
iring to study the work of the
chapter are being urged to at-
tend these meetings.

Club Sends Aid
To Sufferers
Contributing to the Educa-
tional Fund is one of the mosi
important factors in demon-
stration clubs, Mrs. C. E. Petrea
of Providence said when the
Providence Club met in its
rooms on Feb. 2.
The secretary, Mrs. J. C.
Martin, reported that each of
one members had paid her 5c
eductional fee. Responding to
the call of the flood sufferers
the club sent a check lor $10
to the Red Cross Headquarters.
It was voted to paint the
club house.
Mrs. Anthony gave the de-
tails of what each girl is sup-
posed to do to acquire the
scholarship. She also mentioned
that Mrs. Howard Hill of Grs
Saline, a former resident,
the recipient in 1931.
The members came bearing
gilts for the two hostesses, Mrs.
V. H. Hamman and Mrs. Hattie
Smith. Some were useful, otl
lovely, and all were receh
with enthusiasm. At the
meeting. February 16, Mesdames
Sam Hunt and Monroe Ballard
will be the hostesses.
