St:c. 12. 'Witnesses when sum-
moned to atlond Court shall be al-
lowed a compensation of one dollar
ami a halffor each day's attendance
and ten cents per mile for every mile
they may have to travel in going to
and returning from the Court house.
And no fine shall bo imposed upon a
witness nor shall tiny attachment
issue against his body until it is
shown to tho Court by tho affidavit
of the parly his agent or attorney
that tin; mileage and compensation
aforesaid havo been tendered to the
witness.
Skc. lo. Witnesses who have
been duly summoned and who re-
main in attendance upon the Court
whether they havo been called to
testify or not shall at any time du-
ring tho term or upon the adjourn-
ment of Court make an affidavit in
writing before the clerk thereof
stating tho number of days' atten-
dance and the distance they have
been compelled to travel in going to
and returning from the Court which

Skc. 15 At least twenty days be-
fore a term of tho County Court
there shall be drawn in tho manner
now prescribed by law the names
of twelve persons to serve as jurors
at said term ; and on the first day
of the term tho names of all tho ju-
rors upon the venire shall be culled
and thereupon two petit juries to
consist of six men each shall be or-
ganized under the direction of the
Court to bo known as panel num-
ber one and two for the trial of civ-
il cases; and the juries so organized
shall lake tho following oath lo bo
administered by the Clerk or Judge
