Mr. I. S. Taylor,
Nacogdoches, Texas.
Dear Sir:
In a case pending in Harris county, district court involving
the "Juhana Maley" league of land I may have to prove
that Charles S. Taylor was a special commissioner of the
Government of Cathuilla, Texas. prior to the revolution in
1836, appointed for the purpose of extending titles to colonists
for their lands, and that he held and exercised the functions
of that office; Kindly say whether if it becomes necessary I
can prove the foregoing facts by you? We know from the
Land Office that Mr. Taylor as commissioner, extended title
to over 200 colonists, but it may be that 1 will have to prove
tile above facts independantly. Your reply will be a favor
that I will appreciate. Yours Truly,
I. R. CORYELL.
