Chapter 215 H.B. No. 91 1 AN ACT 2 relating to the extent of extraterritorial jurisdiction for certain 3 municipalities. 4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 5 SECTION 1. Section 42.021, Local Government Code, is 6 amended by adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: 7 (c) Regardless of Subsection (a), the extraterritorial 8 jurisdiction of a municipality is the unincorporated area that is 9 contiguous to the corporate boundaries of the municipality and that 10 is located within three miles of those boundaries if the 11 municipality: 12 (1) has a population of not less than 20,000 or more 13 than 29,000; and 14 (2) is located in a county that has a population of 15 45,000 or more and borders the Trinity River. 16 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
