HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL
/CONGRATULATIONS on the splendid achievements in
1933. Cooperation and team play have made it pos-
sible for us to overcome handicaps and to increase our
service to youth.
May I make the plea that in our efforts to extend our
program for the year 1934 we keep especially in mind the
urgent need to help older boys, who more than ever need
the spiritual values of Scouting. As never before young men
—sixteen, seventeen, eighteen, and indeed up to twenty-five
—face life's problems in an unusual way because of our
national situation. Each boy held as a member of his Troop,
a Sea Scout, Patrol Leader, Junior Assistant Scoutmaster,
or through any other means of maintaining his interest, con-
tributes to America's greatest need—men of character!
President.
