ROOSEVELT PILGRIMAGE
THE Boy Scouts of America will
make their annual pilgrimage
to the burial place of Theodore
Roosevelt at Oyster Bay, N. Y., on
Saturday, October 22, under the
leadership of Daniel Carter Beard,
National Scout Commissioner, a
life-long friend and admirer of
Theodore Roosevelt,
Scouters within traveling radius
of Oyster Bay may secure from
their Scout Executives further in-
formation about participation of
their Scouts. Troops in other parts
of the country should plan suitable
celebrations in connection with this
80th Anniversary of Theodore
Roosevelt's birth — October 27,
1858.
CANADIAN-AMERICAN
GOOD NEIGHBOR
CELEBRATION
"PARLY in 1939, a Canadian-
•*-' American Good Neighbor Cele-
bration will be conducted in Can-
ada and the United States to
"demonstrate that two contiguous
countries can live together in peace
and harmony, and thus help bring
the spirit of peace to other coun-
tries throughout the world, which
are now unsettled by wars and
rumors of war." Further informa-
tion will be announced as it is
received from Dr. Charles Stelzle,
Executive Director of the Good
Neighbor League, the sponsoring
agency in the United States.
POSTPONEMENT OF
NEW WORLD JAMBOREE
OWING to the lamented death
of H. E. Sir Edward Denham,
the Patron and Chief Scout for
Jamaica, the new World Jamboree
in Jamaica which was to be held
next year has been postponed until
the summer of 1940.
The postponed Jamaica Jam-
boree should not be confused with
the Australasian Jamboree which
is still scheduled to open Decem-
ber 29, 1938.
