ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY
FOR SCOUTS TO SERVE
WITH the United States moving forward for all-
out war on every front, the Treasury Depart-
ment has initiated a nation-wide Pledge Campaign to
approach every person in the country with a request
to buy War Savings Stamps and Bonds regularly. Sup-
plementing a request for Scout cooperation from the
War Savings Staff (see page 3), Secretary of the
Treasury Morgenthau wired to the Chief Scout Execu-
tive: "The Boy Scouts have always made their country
proud of them and I know that we can count on them
to give their active help in the intensified War Savings
drive which is about to begin.", In many communities
Scouts are already cooperating with War Savings
Staffs, and in places where Scouts have actually
solicited pledges the results have been spectacular.
*
Scout Executives have been asked to
contact the chairmen of local com-
mittees responsible for promoting War
Savings Stamps and Bonds, to offer
such cooperation as can be given by
boys of Scout age, and with Scout train-
ing. In every Council, Scouters should
look to the Executive for leadership.
