RADIO
THEME FOR NOVEMBER
♦ To use radio language, "This is a program of
suggested helps for the monthly theme 'Radio
Stuff' brought to you through the courtesy of Scout-
ing Magazine as a special program planning tool of
the Cub Scouting Service." The following related
announcements will guide your activities for your
make-believe radio men.
BUILDING THE MONTH'S PROGRAM
Appoint an Ideas Chairman if you do not already
have one. Get each Den bubbling over with many
activities and working on projects by developing an
overall plan with the leaders. Enlist the help of
local radio people, dramatic coaches and talented
parents who will enjoy helping prepare script and
can give suggestions for individual and Den stunts
and projects.
DEN PROGRAM STUNTS
Radio and Television are two fields we know 8-, 9-
and 10-year-old boys are acquainted with. Cub
Scouts will enjoy mimicking wellknown radio and
TV stars, and shows like the Lone Ranger, Henry
Aldrich, Dr. I. Q., commercials, amateur hours, Mil-
ton Berle, etc. The boys will have take-offs they use
every day on their favorite stars.
CUB SCOUT STUDIOS
The boys will want a broadcasting studio of their
own so each Den starts to collect old cartons, crates,
wallboards, etc. With a little help, they can set up a
corner of the basement or back porch as an engi-
neer's booth and broadcasting studio with' some
make-believe and other equipment as illustrated.
