How
Money
When the time comes to raise money for your Scout
unit —$50 to $500 and more — select your fund rais-
ing project wisely. First, select a project which can
produce enough money to meet your goal (some fund
raising items are too expensive to be easily sold —
others have a selling price too low to produce a worth-
while profit.) Second, select an item people need and
want (you'll find it a lot easier to sell than a luxury
item), and finally, select your item from a recognized
fund raising firm which can provide you with the all-
important program aids and selling techniques neces-
sary to conduct a successful campaign.
We think the fund raising item which meets these
requirements better than any other available item is
Revere Long-Life light bulbs. The average home,
according to current statistics, has 24 light bulb sockets.
And very few homes have a working bulb in each socket
— let alone any spares. Selling bulbs is easy because
you are selling something people need and want — not
something they buy out of charity. And you do your
customers a genuine service by selling them one of the
finest light bulbs they can buy for home use.
Revere bulbs are guaranteed in writing for 3 years
(2700 burning hours). Compare this with ordinary bulbs
which burn out in less than one year (750 burning hours)
and carry no guarantee at all.
Because almost every home you contact needs light
bulbs, they sell fast. And with your profit of 40c per
package, you'll raise the money you need in practically
no time at all.
$300.00 Profit
If each member of a 25-member unit sells only % case,
the unit profit is $300.00. The average unit will sell
slightly over % case per member. Many units have sold
over 1 case per member.
This chart will tell you how your unit can profit by selling
