i any colleges and universities provide in their cal-
endars a spring recess—what a great time to ask some
of your "alumni" to return to a post meeting. You know
the guys from your post who are now away at college;
have 'em return to share some of their experiences with
the post. Or how about one of the old-timers who is
home on furlough from one of the armed services? Get
the straight scoop on "life in the military"—what's it
really like, etc.?
The big question, should we have a post activity
featuring the theme Good Ole Days? If the post officers
vote yes, what are some of the other considerations?
• Who should we select, or should it be as many as we
can locate?
• What should we ask him (them) to do?
• When should we hold this activity?
• Where would be the most appropriate place?
PLAN 1
Select a former member who can discuss a subject all
post officers choose. Find out when he'll be available.
Discuss the program you have in mind. Plan a big wel-
come.
PLAN 2
Invite all former members you can find. Plan your pro-
gram around films and slides of The Old Days. If you
have a different Advisor now, be certain to invite a
former Advisor and any other adults who might know
your special guests. Hold your reunion in an interesting
place. Make certain your secretary has updated the post
scrapbook. Plan a fun-type informal program—refresh-
ments and the whole bit. Whatever you plan, pin down
details and advise local newspapers about them.
