14, 1910, the Regents of the University accepted
the donation, and Mrs. Dibrell contracted that no
charges should ever be made for the occupancy
of the studio by the collection.
On April 6, 1911, there met in the Ney studio
a group of friends, devoted both to the memory
of Miss Ney and to the best interests of Texas.
After some discussion it was then decided, and
later the decision was confirmed at a meeting
held in the parlors of the Driskill Hotel, that an
organization should be formed, called the Texas
Fine Arts Association and Elisabet Ney Museum.

PURPOSE
The purpose of this organization of men and
women is to develop in Texas art in its truest sense.
Some one has wisely said: "Life is material for
art; to select from it, to harmonize it, is the work
of the artistic sense. It may be expressed in terms
of a noble statue, a fine painting, good architecture,
well-ordered grounds, regulated and happy
homes."
It is also the wish of the organization to preserve
both the memory and the art collection of Elisabet
Ney.
RESOLUTIONS
ADOPTED AT THE FIRST ANNUAL MEETING
HELD IN THE ELISABET NEY MUSEUM,
A'T AUSTIN, TEXAS, IN THE
SPRING OF 1912
Resolved, (1) That the President of the Texas
Fine Arts Association appoint a Legislative Committee,
whose province it shall be to call to the
attention of the Texas Legislature the need of a
