The Board of Aldermen met in Regular session Tuesday evening
February 3, 1970 in the Board Room, City Hall at 7:30 PM.
Members present: Mayor J. G. McAnear, Mayor Pro-tem Glenn Wallace
Alderman John H. Jones, Alderman George Benson, Alderman Charles
E. Deyhle
Members absent: Alderman Chauncey Hommel
Others present: City Secretary Walter B. Knorpp, Police Chief
Gary Gerdes, City Attorney William J. Lowe and Mr. Paul Ferrill
of General Telephone Co.
Minutes of the meeting of January 20, 1970 were read. Motion was
made and seconded that the minutes be approved. Motion carried.
Financial Statement for the month of January 1970 was presented
and approved.
Bills incurred during the Month of January 1970 were presented
for payment. Motion was made and seconded that the Bills be
allowed and ordered paid. Motion carried.
The progress of the Airport was presented also the results of
the Soil test at the airport was presented to the Board. The
City Secretary reported that it would be necessary for the
City to borrow $8,000.00 to pay the estimated bills on the
Airport construction for February. This will be for a period
of 30 to 45 days until the City can be reimbursed for the money
that they have expended from the Texas Aeronautics Commission
and the Federal Aviation Agency. Board approval for the Mayor
and City Secretary to sign a note for $8,000.00.
The Mayor then designated the Polling place for the City Election
would be at City Hall and that all precincts would vote at the
one place.
Mr. Ferrill then met with the Board to discuss the Telephone raise

get a ruling on Telephone Company's use of Income Tax in their
table.
There being no further business to come before the Board at this
time, Motion was made and seconded to adjourn. Motion carried.
