THE BARB-WIRE
Y. W. A. ENDURES
ANNUAL BRAWL
The local chapter of the Y. W. A.
(Standing Indian Maids) met in a seated
tea on board the S. S. Mezzanine a
week from yesterday with MILDRED
STALLINGS as captain. She was assisted
by that renown playboy HENRY
FRANKLIN MILBY.
HELEN JOYNER, with H O Y T
WEST as an escort, was able to fight
off the attentions of SQUACK THOMAS
and HOLMAN JENKENS, coming
suitors. However her dance of the thirteenth
handkerchief when she had an
even dozen was quite a knockout.
PAULINE DILLINGHAM and CARLspecialist, MARTHA LA SUEUR, spanish
wizzard, and MARY JANE GUYTON,
newly wed nurse. However ED
JUNELL and HELEN JO HANNA
broke up the fun when they won too
much.
The main address was delivered to
JO NELL ROBINS by JOHN BLAKE,
JR., who chose three subjects "How not
to Sell Bronco Ads," "What Happens
When You Talk Too Much," and "How
to Be Unpopular" with illustrated Examples.Everyone went for rowboat rides during
the lecture, and MISS HEAD was
forced to return home at 3 o'clock with
only a bare quorum of fifty-one per
cent. The others returned during the
latter part of the week, tired but happy.

PEE staged a blindfolded wrestling
match with FREDDIE SUE BLOXOM
and PETE "Pest" SHAW. It was an
even bout until Shaw lost his temper
and threw all three others from the
ring, injuring seventeen passengers. He
has been summoned into court on
charges of near riot.
The party became dull with such
games as Drop-the-Handkerchief, Post
Office, Wink-um, but CARL GARNER
and ELIZABETH ADELINE McKINSTRY
livened it up when they got tipsy
on MISS HOME-EC CARTER'S flask.
