"During the 1980's, the
development of the College of Business
Administration has been phenomenal,"
Dean Carl H. Stem stated. "Our faculty
is stronger and more highly respected
than ever. Our student body is the most
talented in our history and our graduates
arc increasingly in demand. Our alumni
have taken their places in world,
national, and regional spheres of
influence. They are responding to the
College's need with growing financial
support, and we look forward to their
continued support as we enter a new
decade."

To All Of Our
Supporters:
There are many aspects of
our Annual Fund Drive that encourage
us. Obviously the half-million-dollars-
plus of support raised is greatly
encouraging. It makes the difference
between survival and non-survival in the
keen competition of the business school
marketplace.
The growing participation
base of our alumni is also encouraging.
And especially encouraging is the large
percentage of more recent graduates who
have begun contributing to the Annual
Fund. Seventeen percent of the class of
1987 and sixteen percent of the class of
1986 contributed to the 1988-89 drive.
While the classes in the '60's and '70's
continue to give the larger total amounts
— as would be expected — the strong
participation rate of our '80's graduates
bodes well for the future of COBA's
Annual Fund. This is most encouraging!
On behalf of the faculty,
students and staff of the College, we
thank each of you who contributed to
the 1988-89 Annual Fund. It really is
difficult to find the right words to
express our gratitude to you and to let
you know the impact your support is
having.
As we have said before,
many times, our ambitions for the
College are high, and they cannot be
reached without your support. The state
funding is just not adequate. Again, we
thank you for sharing our ambitions and
for your commitment to COBA's
continued achievement of excellence.
