Jack Blalock and Judson Francis,
composing the State University debat-
ing team, defeated Columbia University
S to 0 at New York. On their return
they were met at the train by the Var-
sity band and a parade was held com-
memorating the victory
Ten members of the Varsity basket-
ball team, including the manager, were
awarded the unqualified letter, eight
men were awarded the qualified letter,
and twelve men on the freshman squad
were given numerals.
Business men of Austin responded
heartily to the V., M. C. A. drive, as
$4500 was pledged for funds to be used
in carrying-on the work of the asso-
ciation.
George H. McOullough, the only Tex-
as man getting a, place on Bellmont's
mythical basketball five, was elected
captain of the 1922 basketball team.
.El Paso Sigh School won the Texas
high school championship in basketball
for 1921 by defeating Brackenridge

T. A. Lyons, Baylor's star captain of
the 1921 basketball team, was the unan-
imous choice of all critics for the posi-
tion of center on the all-southwestern
mytlncal team.
A new course in journalism, commer-
cial advertising, will be offered in the

A telegram of greetings and appreci-
ation was sent to Woodrodw Wilson on
his retiring from office by the faculty

ing score: Oklahoma Aggies score a,

cup to Texas A- & M. at the Pat Stock
Show at Port Worth.

Baylor College Press Club will send
delegates to the Annual Press meeting.
The club enters articles in each of the
five inter-collegiate press contests.
A debating team and two alternates
have been elected to meet Baylor Uni-
versity in a joint debate.
