Coliseum during the 1999-2000 season,
when he had impressed fans and opponents
with his great shooting touch from behind the
three-point arc. Personal difficulties had
forced Lee to leave ACU before the start of
the 2000-2001 season, but his return in 20012002
was a pleasure to watch. Still possessing
the polished outside shot he had shown as
a freshman, Lee proved to be the Wildcats'
best offensive threat, averaging 13.6 points
per game while canning 64 three-pointers.
"It was great to have the chance to play in
Moody again," Lee said. "The season was
definitely a struggle for us, but it was still
nice to be back at ACU."
Unfortunately, although appreciated by
both his teammates and the onlookers in the
stands, Lee's play alone wasn't enough to lift
ACU out of the LSC cellar the team had
occupied the previous year. And as fans and
players filed out of Moody Coliseum following
an agonizing 71-70 loss to Eastern New
Mexico University that mercifully signaled
the end of the season, they were left to ponder
another year that might have been and to
look ahead to the fall, when hopes for a
return to glory would once again spring anew
for the ACU Wildcats.
