the student council . ..
*The student council is made up of the president, vice president, and secretary of the student
body, plus the presidents of the four classes, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
In the picture above, left to right, is Speaker of the House Ted Stewart: Charlotte Coffman,
student body secretary: and Walter Kriedel, student body vice president. On the back row,
smiling through, is Don Drennan, Junior president; Hugh Brown, Freshman president; Dave
Malone, Sophomore president; and smirking Bill Young, Senior president.
Student government has worked diligently throughout the year on various projects both
on and off the campus. The Sadie Hawkins Party, the Christmas Party for the boys at Boys
Ranch, the Christmas Safety campaign, special work with the Lectureship, arrangements for
the Bobby Morrow homecoming, and all the correspondence required by student offices has
been carried on quite successfully by the student government this year. Offices held by
students require lots of work and more responsibility than most people realize. The council
has been abreast of all activities of the campus and their organization has kept the spirit
of unity and togetherness alive . . . and very vital to the whole student body.71
