BROTHER F. B. SHEPHERD BROTHER E. W. McMILLAN
Regular Services
Students in Abilene Christian College attend church twice every Sunday with the College
congregation. The services are conducted by F. B. Shepherd, who has been here for two years,
and is doing a wonderful work among the students. Mid-week meetings are held every Wednesday
night, giving a special opportunity for individual training. They believe that students
should be taught the word of God at the same time they are gaining a secular education.
Fall Meeting
The advancement of the Cause of Jesus Christ is the primary purpose of Abilene Christian
College. In order to perfect, as much as possible, this great work, there are conducted at the
college, during the Fall and Spring terms, two protracted meetings.
Brother E. W. McMillan, of Cleburne, did the preaching during the Fall Meeting of '24,
which began on November 30 and continued until December 10. Through his wonderful work,
striking personality and winning disposition; and the splendid cooperation of the Church the
meeting was a pronounced success. His very edifying sermons which were delivered in a simple
clear and logical manner, were unmistakably beneficial to all, and many souls were brought
to Christ.
Spring Meeting
The Spring Meeting began on April 12 and closed April 19. Brother J. N. Armstrong of
the Harding College, Morrillton, Arkansas, conducted the meeting. To know Brother Armstrong
is to love him, to hear him preach is to be impressed with his faith in God. The meeting was
characterized by a deep spiritual atmosphere and has been a great benefactor in the work of God.-86
