Eastern Chapter to Meet
Maj S-S tn Lewtsburg
May is almost here again! The Eastern Chapter is happy to
welcome all Hellcats, Hellkittens and friends to our meeting. It
will be held May 3, 4 and 5, 2002, at the Country Cupboard Inn
in Lewisburg, PA (570-524-5500). This year our chairman is
Ralph Phillips (856-829-4419); co-chairman is Norman Brouse
(570-524-9715). There are several packages available - see the
reservation form.
Vince Mancinelli, Eastern Chapter coordinator, once again
wishes to stress that we are all part of the 12th Armored Division
Association. Many diverse battalions and companies make up
this great group. Some only have a small number of attendees; so
all are encouraged to mix and enjoy the fellowship of other
Hellcats and Hellkittens. It is our goal to have everyone attending
feel that they are part of a warm-hearted family.
Julie Doebler, representative of the Inn, has guaranteed that we
will always have a hospitality room. This room is set up for our
exclusive use from noon on Friday until after our dance on
Saturday evening. Our popular four-piece band "The Preludes"
will once again supply the music for dancing.
Send your reservation in now so you are sure to get a room.
You are not required to send your credit card number or a deposit
to hold this room until 4:30 p.m. the day of your reservation. If
something comes up and you have to cancel, as a matter of
courtesy, call the Inn and let them know.
We wish to assure all members that the Eastern Chapter will
continue to meet as long as people will come. We're looking
forward to seeing our old friends in May and hope to make some
new ones. See you then!
Roy Carman, long-time owner of Graphic Printing Co.,
Seward, NE, passed away Feb. 1, 2002. Graphic Printing has
printed the Hellcat News for many years, and will continue to
do so with Roy's wife Wanda, and son John. The 12th
Armored Division Association expresses its sincere sympathy
to Roy's family and friends.
572nd AAA HOLDS REUNION (continued from page 1)
follow in the next issue of "Helltrack News."
New faces at the reunion belonged to Guido and Caroline
Morfesi of A Battery. He had lost track of the 572nd after the
war, and this was his first reunion. He promised it would not be
his last.
Betty D'Angelo, who has been the "editor and publisher" of
the Helltrack News for quite some time, is finally getting a
chance to slide out of the seat, as she wished. Kate Charonneau
and Michael Hotra, of the younger generation, will "guide future
issues of the Helltrack News," according to the newsletter. Betty
will be getting a much-needed and deserved rest.
It was reported that John Rakich [D], died July 18, 2000. He
was 84 years old.
