STUDENT FINANCIAL AID 25
4. STUDENT FINANCIAL AID
The University Student Financial
Aid and Scholarship Program offers
assistance to worthy students needing
financial aid, and awards scholarships
to students of high scholastic
achievement.
Financial aid is allocated on the
basis of need in the forms of loans,
jobs, and grants. Usually aid is offered
in the form of all three; however,
acceptance of loan and job
offers is entirely optional in the case
of some specific grants. The aid is
administered on an individual basis
according to the particular circumstances
of the student and his
family.
The University has funds for student
employment, scholarships and
grants. It cooperates in making
available funds provided by both the
Federal and State Government tostudents for employment, loans,
and grants. These programs are
known as the College-Work-Study,
Hinson-Hazlewood College Student
Loan, The Federally Insured Student
Loan, the National Direct Student
Loan, Law Enforcement Loans and
Grants, Basic Educational Opportunity
Grants, Supplemental Educational
Opportunity Grants, and Tuition
Equalization Grant. The University
must administer the Federal
and State programs within prescribed
regulations.
All government programs are
dependent on funding by Federal
and State Governments. Awards are
subject to funding by legislation
and are not binding on the University
if such programs are not funded.
The University is required to participate
in a Need Analysis Service,_ __
