Commissioners Agree To Buy Radio,
Sign Contract With Appraisal District
The Shackelford ( ounty Com
missioners voted to buy a new
radio for the Sheriffs depart
ment, signed two contracts and
approved a , right, of way agree
ment during their regular August
meeting held Monday
Sheriff Ben Riley appeared be
fore the Court to request the pur
chase of an eight band General
Electric radio for his car. The unit
has a list price ofH .otiO.
Riley told the group that he had
obtained an $800 donation from
the First National Hank of Alban .
towards the purchase of the radio
He asked for the balance of $760
The Court told Riley that the
item was not budgeted and that
the General Fund was already
( overdrawn. .
Riley informed' the com
mi>sioners he was prepared to
take a personal loan if the pur
chase was not approved

Road and Bridge Funds The.
