AN ACT
Making Appropriations for the support of Government for the
year one thousand eight hundred and forty-two.
SEC. 1. Be it enacted iby the Senarte and House of Representatives
of the Republic of Texas in Congress assembled,
That the following sums be, and they are hereby, appropriated for
the service of the year one thousand eight hundred and fortytwo,
to wit:For
the salary of the President of the Republic, five thousand
dollars.
For the salary of the Vice-President, orre thousand dollars.
For the salary of the Secretary of State, one thousand five
hundred dollars.
For the salary of the Secretary of the Treasury, one thousand
five hundred dollars.
For the salary of the Secretary of rWar and Navy, one thousand
five hundred dollars.
For the salary of the Attorney-General. one thousand dollars.
For the salary" of the Conmmissioner of the General Land-Office,
one thous.arnd five hundred dollars.
For the salary O, the Treasurer, one thousand dollars,
For the salary of the Comptroller, one thousand dollars.
For the salary of the Auditor, one thousand dollars.
For the s t'liar of the Captain of Ordllanlce, six hundred dollars.
For the s.r':i y of the Draftsman of the General Land-Office,
seven hundred dollars.
For salary of eight chief clerks, at six hundred dollars each,
four thousand eight hundred dollars.
For salary of one chief, clerk of the Post-Office Departmpnt,
six hundred dollars. .
For the salary of fourteen assistant clerks of the various departmenets,
at five hundred and fifty dollars each, seen thousand
seven hundred dollars. *
For the salary of Armorer, at forly dollars per month, four
hundred and eighty dollars.
For the, salary of four laborers at the Arsenal, at twenty-five
dollars per month, one thousand two hundred dollars.
