When tho Swishor County Teachers
Instituto met in Tulia in January a del
cgatioa of women from tho Mothers
Club of Kress came over and extended
tho members of tho institute a cordial
invitation to como to Kress Assuring
them if they would come thoy would
be well fed as tho Mothers Club
would furnish tho dinner
Tho organization voted to accept the
invitation
Saturday March 4th was the regular
moetiig time a d a representation of
tho toachors and trustees of Swisher
County wore present
On entering the school building Mrs
J It Vaughn president of the Moth
ers Club met every visitor and made
them feel woleomo
Tho instituto was called to order at
11 oclock by tho president Judge J
E Swepston Aftor singing America
J B Willis superintendent of tho Kress t
schools led in prayer A business period
was entered into and sovoral subjects
of intorost wero discussed before
lunch was announced
Tho guests wero invited to tho ban1
one partakes of only on rare occasions
The menu consisted of fried chicken
chicken pie baked chicken with dressing
and gravy roast beef fresh boiled
ham pickles deviled eggs fruit salad
salmon salad potato salad creamed
Irish potatoes enndiod yams macaroni
with chceso bread pie and coffee It
is useless to sny that every person pros
ent did thoir part toward tho enjoyment
of this elegant feast
At 2 oclock tho instituto met in business
session
After tho business for tho day was
disposed of by request of the Mothers
Club Judge Swepston gave a splendid
talk on consolidated school followed
by Mr Bagwell and several trustees
