MRS. SEWELL
Abilene Christian College is justly very much pleased with this
department. The Class has been large, and has done good work in the
past, and we hope for a large class during the session of 1915-'16.
The education of every person should, when possible, embrace the
study of art, for it trains the eye, elevates the soul, and creates an
uplifting influence all through life by developing a love of the beautiful
in nature.
The work in this department includes:
1. Outline drawing in pencil.
2. Still life studies in pencil.
3. Study from cast in charcoal.
4. Flower study from nature in water color and oil.
5. Still life and flower painting in water color and oil.
6. Landscape painting in oil and water color.
7. Sketching from nature in water color.
SPECIAL ATTENTION IS GIVEN TO CHINA PAINTING AND
WATER COLOR.
TUITION: Per Month, $5.00.-In advance.
This includes three lessons per week of two hours duration.
Students, who finish this course in a satisfactory manner will be
given a certificate of graduation.
Mr. Ralph of Abilene will give a handsome gold medal to the student
making the greatest progress in Art during 1915-'16.
Mrs. Sewell will give a nice reward to the student with the best
exhibit in the Art Reception at the close of school.
MUSIC
MISS PHILLIPS
Abilene Christian College is very fortunate in being able to offer
a music department as strong as the very best. With the best methods,
and the quality of teaching employed in this department, its
genuine merit is sure to be quickly recognized.
A sincere intelligent effort will be made to develop each student
into a real musician, and the noble principles and standards of music
will not be compromised.
