GENERAL INFORMATION
grasping the thought of the whole and the interrelationship of the
parts and the actual facts of the Bible.
In order to put Christianity first in the thoughts and activities
of the student body ample oportunities are given in both
religious worship and in practical service. In all the meetings
outlined below, a worshipful, respectful attitude is fostered and
the religious spirit is deepened and enriched.
Chapel Exercises.-Once each school day the students asemble
for chapel exercises. These consist of hymns, readings from
the Bible, prayers and earnest, inspiring talks by faculty-members
and visiting brethren.
Church Service.-Students are urged to bring with them
their church letters and to actively associate themselves in the
local church worship. All are expected to attend church services
regularly Sunday morning and night. In addition to these regular
preaching services, they are welcomed to the Bible school Sunday
mornings at 9:45 and to the prayer and praise services Wednesday
nights.
Young Men's Meeting.-Every Monday night three meetings
are conducted by the young men of the College. These services
of Gospel songs,, Scripture readings and quotations, and evangelistic
talks furnish valuable training for the young men, so
that they learn how to take their part in the work in the church
and come to love the.service of their Lord.
Mission Study Meetings.-In the forty-five minutes preceding
the prayer meeting on Wednesday nights, there is a religious meeting
of Scripture, prayer, exhortation and mutual encouragement
that deals especially with missions. These meetings are not designed
alone for future missionaires as such, but for all Christians,
and study is made of such problems as: Missions in the Bible;
The Bible way of sending out and supporting missions; Needs
of the mission fields.
Evangelistic Forum.-Each Friday evening the preacher boys
meet for worship and Christian training. Their program usually
consists of religious songs, Scripture reading, prayer, and a study
of some phase of evangelistic work-some faculty member or
local preacher leading in the discussion.
Opportunities for Service. The inspiration and uplift of
worship needs practical fruit-bearing to put genuineness into
Christian lives, so that they may become the salt of the earth.19
