ninety-six hours he will be required to select his major field. In
this he must complete at least thirty-five hours and not more
than fifty-two hours. At least twenty-two of these must be
advanced. In his first minor he must finish at least twentyseven
hours, and not more than forty, and at least twenty-two and
not more than thirty hours in the second minor. Enough advanced
work must be done in the two minors, which when added
to the advanced work done in the major subject will make fortyeight
hours.
When a student has selected his major subject, the head of
that department becomes his advisor. In conference with this
professor the student will then select his two minors, and, in
fact, he must have this professor approve his course of study
each time he registers before the Dean will approve his course
card. It is understood that the minors selected shall be fields
closely related to his major field and strengthening it.
At present students may major in the following fields and
subjects:
1. Bible; (a) English Bible.
2. Education.
3. English.
4. Foreign Languages; (a) Latin, (b) Spanish.
5. Mathematics.
6. Natural Science: Biology, Chemistry.
7. Social Science: (a) Geography, (b) History, (c) Sociology.Fourth.-The completion of one hundred and ninety-two
hours of work with an average grade of at least C-plus on the last
ninety-six hours. At least forty-eight hours of this must be advanced.Fifth.-Character requirements.
Mere intellectual attainment is not the sole basis for graduation,
nor should it be the largest factor. It is our purpose to
recommend for graduation from this institution only such young
men and women as have clean morals, and are honest, trustworthy,
and free from such bad habits as, (1), the use of tobacco
or intoxicants, (2), gambling in any form, (3), neglecting to
settle all obligations punctually and satisfactorily, and (4), any
other habits that the faculty may specify as injurious and de
