261.-Conducting. The course includes principles of conducting,
means of adapting these principles to various demands of church,
school and community conducting, the technique of the baton, conducting
without the baton, score reading, program making, preparation
of program notes. Attention is given to both instrumental and
choral conducting.
252.-Conducting (continued). The course includes the physical
aspect of directing, fundamental position of "beats," left hand signals;
proper coordination to right hand, interpretation, accenting, basic
problems, the "fermata" and release, pick-up notes.
253-254.-Band Directing. These courses include the physical

Private lessons in piano, voice, and band instruments will be available
to those who desire to take this work.
GROUP LESSONS IN PIANO
Group lessons in piano will be given to adult beginners. This work
is reconmmended for teachers who may desire to direct the musical
activities of children in the public schools. The class will meet for
a period of one hour four times per week and each member will be
given an opportunity to play at each meeting of the class. Tuition
will be six dollars per term.SUMMER SESSION
