ABILENE CHRISTIAN COLLEGE
ATHLETIC PARK.
The athletic park contains about five acres, nicely fenced and
with an excellent grandstand. In addition there are good tennis
courts for both men and women.
MEN'S BATH HOUSE
This is a brick and concrete building, equipped with good
shower bath and toilet fixtures.
THE LIBRARY.
The Library contains more than eight thousand carefully
selected volumes. These books are carefully indexed by the
Dewey Cataloging System. A card-index shows what authors
are represented on the book shelves, what subjects are treated,
how many pages in each book, and the date of publication.
Neither time nor effort has been spared in selecting books nor
in making card indexes. More than fifty of the best periodicals
touching the various fields of study are on the shelves of the
reading room.
TRAINING SCHOOL BUILDING.
This is a model frame building of four rooms. In this, the
training school of the Department of Education is conducted.
The building is modern in every respect and is furnished with
first class school equipment.
RELIGIOUS CULTURE.
Abilene Christian College is pre-eminently an institution for
Christian education.
Bible in the Curriculum.-Every student is required to study
the Bible every year that he or she remains here.
Chapel Exercises.-Once each day the students are assembled
in the auditorium for chapel services. The program consists
of a song, a selection read from the Bible, prayer, and a
talk. The talks are usually the high lights of the best sermons.
Bible School.-A Bible school of about four hundred members
meets in the different class-rooms of the administration
building on Sunday morning and the class work is conducted by
efficient teachers.
Church Services.-Abilene is a city of churches. Students are
expected to attend church Sunday morning and night. Regular18
