ninth chords and chords of the diminished seventh, suspensions, embellishments
and analysis. Ear training and keyboard harmony continued.241, 242.- Counterpoint I. Stress is laid on two and three voiced
writing, with detailed analysis of the Bach inventions.
101, 102.-First Year Piano. Scales, broken chords, Etudes by
Czerny, Chopin, etc. Bach two and three voiced inventions and
pieces by Schumann, Chopin, Mendelssohn, Greig, etc.
121, 122.-Second Year Piano. Chromatic scales, arpeggios, Etudes,
Bach's Preludes and Fugue and lyrical pieces of Chopin, Brahms,
Debussy, etc.
161, 162.-Third Year Piano. Scales continued, advanced Etudes
and pieces.
191, 192.-Fourth Year Piano. Advanced Etudes, and a Beethoven
Sonata. Other pieces, one brilliant Virtuoso that can serve as closing
number on recital program.
GROUP LESSONS
Group lessons in piano will be given to adult beginners. This
work is recommended for teachers who may desire to direct the
musical activities of children in the public schools. The class will
meet for a period of one hour four times per week and each member
will be given an opportunity to play at each meeting of the class.
Tuition will be six dollars per term.
